DISCUSSION of the possibility of acquiring either by lease or donation of some railroad equipment owned by a movie studio, as well as discussing efforts that were being made to acquire a small diesel locomotive and passenger cars.
APPROVED that the date for renewal of dues be extended to March 15, for the year 1968, only.
APPROVED that the president should contact the Orange Empire Trolley Museum in regards to operating of Number 10 during the time that their power plant is out of service.
DISCUSSED costs involved in operating a museum sponsored train trip on the Sonora-Baja California Railway.

GOLD COAST MARKS 11TH YEAR
The southernmost operating steam railroad in the U. S., located at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will celebrate its 11th anniversary Saturday, March 16, 1968.
An operating museum, THE GOLD COAST RAILROAD, will take advantage of its anniversary to dedicate its new terminal building at 811 S. W. 34th Street in Ft. Lauderdale.
U. S. Congressman J. Herbert Burke will be the guest speaker for the big event, which will be followed by a spike driving contest.
The "Ferdinand Magellan", a special car once used by FDR will be on display.
LAND NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE
If you have read the February issue of the 4th District Local, which by the way is not sponsored by the museum, you probably know all about PSRMA's land negotiations.
Yes, we are trying to arrange with the Navy for use of the long unused trackage which served the Camp Elliott area, just across U. S. 395 from the Miramar Air Station. Congressman Bob Wilson has been asked for his aid and the association has drawn up a proposal and maps of what it would like to accomplish in the area.
Since the Santa Fe has applied to close down its Elsinore station and about six miles of track at that end of the Elsinore branch, the museum has made some negotiations in this direction too. This site would give the association a great start with its trackage and station facilities. Nothing much can happen in this deal until the California Public Utilities Commission has rendered a decision one way or the other on the fate of the branch.
Yes, the Report is aware that the deals on land and the possibilities of land have not been published. For one the association feels that these things while not secret, should not be greatly publicized. After all one needs to do is attend board meetings or regular business meetings where these things are reported on regularly.
EXCURSION AGREEMENT REACHED
At a meeting Tuesday, February 27, an agreement was reached between the board of directors for PSRMA and Wally Duthie for the operation of PSRMA trips.
A contract with Duthie, to operate excursions for the museum, will be signed as soon as the necessary papers can be drawn up.
PUERTO PENASCO OR BUST
Yes, we are still thinking of another trip to Puerto Penasco, Baja California. In fact the museum board of directors have been planning it for some time. Sorry, but the date has not been set as of this time.
